Dynamic Headline Fader, Version 3.0
introduction


This tutorial can be appreciated by users of any browser, any version. The in-line examples will work only in Netscape Navigator 4 and Microsoft Internet Explorer 4+.

Hot on the heels of Versions 2.0 and 2.01 comes yet another update to our fader script.

A couple of new features have been added, but most importantly, compatibility has been assured for the greatest number of DHTML browser versions across platforms.



Prerequisites

Version 3.0 Improvements

  1. Fader can optionally become a "flipper", switching headlines with no effect.
  2. Multiple headlines per display possible.
  3. Possible error of NS image load accounted for
  4. NS 4.03 and older Image object problem addressed
  5. NS 4.01 and older event handler function problem addressed
  6. IE Mac Fader sizing and positioning fixed
  7. IE Mac text alignment fixed
  8. IE Mac 4.0 vertical spacing fixed
  9. External file load for NS4.01 and older implemented
  10. External file load for Active Server Pages implemented
  11. and more...

So, with the Version 2.01 script fresh in your mind, let's move on to the Version 3 improvements.
