Chapter 11: The Visual Model

If you've been working through this book module-by-module, by now you should have developed a fairly good command of the basics of Cascading Style Sheets. You know the difference between selectors, properties, and values. You know what a declaration is and how it differs from a style rule. You are familiar with linked, embedded, and inline style sheets. Also, you have worked with various properties, and have developed an understanding of the basic CSS toolbox. However, you may be wondering how all of these things come together to enable you to create page layouts with CSS. Although you can create very nice page layouts using just the properties you have learned about thus far, more sophisticated layouts can be created by using the properties identified with the visual model.
